- Attention AOL Users. You should now be able to access your
email. Please let us know if you are still having problems.
01-11-2005 - Starting on Wednesday 01/12/2005 you will no longer
be able to access the old email system from outside of the office.
01-10-2005 - If you are using AOL as your ISP you may not
be able to access the new email system. We have discovered the
problem that AOL is causing and are working on a solution. We
will keep
you posted when a solution is available.
A
couple of users have reported that they were able to log on to
the new
mail
system
but could
not
see
their messages. This is most likely a result of the security
settings in your web browser being set to high or to restrictive.
To adjust
your security settings in Internet Explorer open up Internet
Explorer and click on the menu choice labeled 'TOOLS' then 'INTERNET
OPTIONS'. The
Internet Options dialog box will appear. Click on the tab at
the
top labeled
'SECURITY'. You should see several icons in a row labeled 'INTERNET',
'LOCAL INTRANET', 'TRUSTED SITES', and 'RESTRICTED ZONES'. By
default the 'INTERNET' icon should be selected, if it is not
click on it to select it. Below you will see a group box labeled
'SECURITY
LEVEL FOR THIS ZONE'.
There
should also be two buttons labeled 'CUSTOM LEVEL...' and 'DEFAULT
LEVEL'. If it is not disabled (grayed out) click on the 'DEFAULT
LEVEL' button. This will set the slide control security level
to Medium. Click on the 'APPLY' button in the lower right corner
of the dialog box and then click on the 'OK' button at the
bottom of the dialog box. Close Internet Explorer and then reopen
it and try accessing your email again. If your security setting
for the 'INTERNET' zone was already set at Medium then that was
not the problem. On occasion deleting your temporary intenet
files has helped with Outlook Web Access problems. Depending
on the
version
of Internet Explorer you have the description above
may
not match
what you are looking at exactly but it should be close enough
to guide you through the process. Other possible problems include
to old of a version of Internet Explorer (version 6 with service
pack 1 is the latest), using some
other web
browser other than Internet Explorer, firewall software, popup
blocker software, Internet security software, etc.. You may need
to adjust any or all of these items if you are using them in
order to allow the Outlook Web Access mail program to work correctly.
Please remember
that when logging into the new mail system the logon dialog box
that you see will look different depending
on the web browser and the version of Windows
that your
computer
has
on it.
Under Windows XP you will be presented with a box that only
asks for your Username and Password. Here you would type in your
full username (ex. firstname.lastname@foster-healey.local) in
the Username textbox and your password in the Password textbox.

Under Windows 2000/ME/98 you will be presented with a box that
asks for your Username, Password, and Domain. Here you would type
in
your Shortcut Username (ex. firstname.lastname) in the Username
textbox, your password in the Password textbox, and FOSTER-HEALEY
in the Domain textbox.

Please remember to use your new username and password that was
sent to you via email.
We will be making improvements in this area over the next couple
of weeks and will keep you informed as we make changes.

At 2:00pm on 12/31/2004 all incoming mail was redirected to the
new mail server. By 9:00pm all of the mailboxes were moved from
the old mail server to the new one. During the transfer process
your 'Deleted Items' folder was not moved to your new mailbox.
If you need items from your 'Deleted Items' folder you can still
access it on the old system. Please remember that no changes were
made to your old mailbox so if something is missing or different
it was not a result of the transfer process. You should only use
the new email system from this point forward. Access to the new
mail system from within the offices and outside of the offices
is only available through the OWA website (the 'Click Here To
Check Your Email - New System' link). Outlook has not been configured
to connect to the new mail server yet. We will let you know when
this has been completed. Those of you with your own desktop and
laptop computers we will arrange a time with you to reconfigure
your Outlook to connect to the new mail server.
